June 2019Personal Statement
I have been competing in golf tournaments since I was 8 years old. I won my first Minnesota Jr PGA tournament when I was 9 years old. Every summer since I have played competitive golf as much as I can. I have scored well enough to be invited to play on the MN Players Tour since I was 15 years old. I have been a part of the Red River High School golf team that has won North Dakota State Championships the last three years. As a sophomore, I placed 15th overall individually. My scores have helped Red River win the last 3 years. In 2017, I won the qualifier for the Optimist International in Bismarck, ND, which led me to the opportunity to compete against the best golfers from around the world at the PGA National Golf Course in Palm Beach FL. My goal was to score in the top 50 of those players, and I did. I took 2nd place at the North Dakota State High School 2020 individual tournament at Riverwood Golf Course in Bismarck. My current handicap is +.1. I would love the opportunity to continue playing competitive golf at the college level.
