Personal Statement

My name is Jake Fox and I am a junior at Moeller High School in Cincinnati, Ohio. I have recently completed my second year on the varsity golf team. My summer/fall scoring average was 75.1. This is an improvement of 2.8 strokes over my previous year. I have been fortunate to experience the competitiveness of Division I high school golf and had the opportunity to play in our state tournament where our team placed fifth in the state. As a junior our team won the Division I State Championship. Over the past year, I have competed in numerous AJGA , Golfweek Junior Tour and SOPGA tournaments in Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana and Florida where my average has been 74.5. I am working very hard to achieve my dream of attending a Division I, II or III college where I can play golf.

Along with working toward that dream ,I continue to be dedicated to my school work and currently have a 3.8 GPA. Although I am currently undecided as to where to devote my studies to in college, I will continue to work to get myself ready for college by being the best student I can be. Success to me is not only important on the golf course, but it is very important to me to be a good student as well as a good person in order to be a successful individual.

I am excited about the prospect of my future both academically and in golf. I am dedicated and driven to become the best golfer I can be. I know I will be a great asset to any collegiate program that is looking for a hard worker both on the course and in the classroom.

Started Late December. Put together a workout program with a trainer who was a former collegiate golfer. Established a program to improve balance, strength and flexibility. Club head speed 2013: 105.2 MPH, club head speed 2014: 111.1 MPH (as of February 21st).
