When my brother was in 7th grade (and I was in 5th), my grandpa taught us how to play golf, and my brother joined the middle school golf team. His middle school coach always let me come and practice with them. Ever since then, I’ve been hooked on the game. Over the last 5+ years, I have learned so much from the game of golf. It has taught me mental toughness. It has shown me that hard work and practice with a purpose pays off. When I was in middle school, there were a bunch of top players my age in central Ohio that I couldn’t compete with at all. Now, not only can I compete with them, but I am now beating them. I have learned how to compete and win under pressure. I won four tournaments in 2019 and also advanced to the state D1 district tournament by winning a three-for-one playoff with a birdie on the second playoff hole.
I am looking for a college that will be a good fit both athletically and academically. I have a love for photography and digital media/film production and want to pursue a degree in one of these areas. Athletically, I want to come in and help the team be successful in any way possible. I believe I have more than just the talent to play college golf, but also the work ethic, leadership, and character to make a strong, positive impact on a program.
