Personal Statement

My name is Zach Ashba and my dream has always been to be a collegiate golfer and maybe make it too the next level. I have been around golf my entire life. Growing up I lived right next to a golf course. My backyard was the driving range. Right now I am in my senior year of golf and I have had an impressive summer golf resume. I am a 11 time tournament winner and a 2 time tour champion. This summer I won the North Coast Junior Tour Classic Auto Cup points championship along with 5 tournament wins in that category. In NCJT I had a very good start too the season averaging a 74.34 in the first half. I ended up having a rough second have but still managed to win the championship with averaging total a 79.34. In the NEOFuturesTour I won the player of the year award with the points championship, along with 6 tournament wins in that tour. I averaged a 75.73 in that tour with posting a career tournament low of two under par.

I ended up winning the tournament. After a terrible start too a round of being +8 thru 6 holes I went on a hot streak starting on the 7th. From the 7th too the 18th I went -4. I was down 7 shots through 9 holes and won by one shot. I went on the front nine 43 and the back nine 32. Another great comeback and I can honestly say I’m very happy where my golf game is right now but still a lot of room for improvement!

I won this even playing great golf! It started on the 6th hole going into it I was +1. I topped my 2nd shot into a par 5 then holed out for 120 yards in too make an eagle. I won the tournament by nine shots shooting -2 69. Front nine score was 35 and the back nine score was 34. My career low for a tournament score!

I had a very bad weekend down Indiana. I really couldn’t put a good swing on the golf ball but we all have bad days. I shot 84 and missed the cut for the championship by 3 shots.

I had a bad day out on the course today and didn’t have a good day. Swing felt weird and it was just a bad day. I had a decent front nine shooting 37 but I played bad on the back nine and shot a 42 for a 79.

Ended up Winning the tournament at lost nation I shot -2 on the front nine 34. And on the back nine I shot +3 39. Ended up +1 73 and won by 4 strokes. I was -3 through 10 holes, kinda lost the grove I had on the front nine going into the back but overall not a bad day at all.

The conditions were brutal. It was 43 degrees and rain through the first nine holes. The back nine got a little bit better and warmed up too 48 degrees. Front nine I ended up shooting a 43 with par 35. I kept my head in it and shot a 36 on the back nine 35 being par. I ended up shooting 79, nine over par and took home the win in the tournament. First tournament of the year and a win to start the year.

Day One playing the Weiskoph course at Quail I did not do the best. I shot a 89, 41-48-89. Day 2 at the Devlin Course I played very well to bounce back from the poor performance day one I shot a 78, 38-40-78. I ended up tied for 12th in the championship tournament.

Day 1 at sand ridge I ended up shooting an 83, 40-43-83. Day 2 I ended up shooting 83 again, 42-41-83. Too total up too 166. I ended up placing T18th out of 38 players with high competition golfers including a couple collegiate golfers who played in the tournament.
