Personal Statement
My name is Brooks Coats and I am a golfer from Oklahoma that will graduate high school in 2020. I have been playing golf all of my life and have been on the varsity golf team all three years of my career. I have won two regional championships and three state runner-ups over my three years. My favorite thing about golf is that golf is based on skill rather than athleticism. Golf has taught me to think positively because negative thoughts cause negative shots. I play golf pretty much year round and I play in summer tournaments to develop my game. Like golf, I take pride in academics. My academic philosophy throughout high school has been that school comes before any other activities. In college, I want to be academically challenged and I want to study statistics, economics, or sociology but I am certainly open to other areas of study.
