Gavin Leigh '23 Recruiting Profile

I started playing golf a little later than most players, but I found such a passion for the sport right away.  In a very short amount of time, I have been able to go from a beginner golfer to a varsity team member at a 6A program.  It was not easy to learn a brand-new sport among my peers, who have had much more experience.  However, I think starting later taught me how to fight for my spot and overcome adversity while building my confidence in competing at a high level. I know that I haven’t met my full golf potential yet, and I am excited to see how I progress at the collegiate level.  Throughout my high school career, I have held a job and maintained a 3.97 GPA, while taking AP and concurrent college classes. After high school I want to attend college for mechanical engineering and business while being a part of the golf program.  I believe that my natural golf ability, leadership skills, and willingness to put in the work both on and off the course, make me a great candidate to be a part of your team!
