Personal Statement

My name is Caden Holmes, I am sixteen years old, and a junior at Napanee District Secondary School. My goal is to play collegiate golf, obtaining a degree in the process. I am a highly motivated individual, who works hard both as a golfer and student.

A few accomplishments over my junior golf career include winning the 2018 Canadian Ping Match Play Championship U15 division, having a strong showing at the 2018 AJGA/CGJA Championship U19 division shooting career low tournament round (-5) 67, and being selected to represent Team Ontario at the 2019 Williamson Cup in Rochester NY. I also competed in the 2019 (U19) Canadian Junior Match Play Championship making the quarterfinals, and had good showings at both the 2019 U17 and U19 Ontario Provincial Championships. These results have shown me that my hard work/dedication on and off the course is paying off.

Aside from golf and school, I play competitive hockey during the winters. This has helped me learn the teamwork, commitment and leadership needed for team success.

I believe I have the talent to compete for a college golf program, combined with my strong character, work ethic and leadership skills. I am a good teammate, very coachable and willing to learn. As I continue to grow physically and as a person, I am confident I would be an asset to your program.
