In 2022, I relocated to Canada from South Africa. I am 17 years old and a senior in high school, and attend Abbey Park, located in Oakville, Canada. I've been playing golf since I was six years old. It was during the Covid pandemic that I was able to devote more time to my golf compared to the other sports I played. Since then, it has been my dream to play collegiate golf at the highest possible level, and I am willing to give it my all to reach that goal.
During my time in South Africa, my favorite sport was cricket, and I have had the opportunity to represent my school, club, and province at the highest level. I encourage my teammates and peers to be the best version of themselves, whether “on or off” the field. I was fortunate to reside on a golf estate and had the opportunity to play 4/5 times a week during the covid pandemic, which resulted in my golf handicap reducing to single figures.I am grateful for the mentorship, encouragement, and support from my coaches, Julie Bruyns (PGA Class AAA Professional) in golf and Internationally Recognized Coach Raymond Jennings in cricket. Their teachings have taught me the foundations of solid discipline, resilience, and hard work.
In the classroom, I have maintained a GPA of 3.2 and focused on giving it my all for my final year of high school. Overall I want to attend a University that will push me past the limit. I am open to exploring all options but ultimately want to make parents, family, coaches, teammates, and peers proud.
