Matthew Martel '21 Recruiting Profile

Growing up, I played multiple different sports at a competitive level, but eventually fell in love with golf. I chose to focus my attention solely on it in the hopes of improving my game, competing against the best juniors in the region and nation, and one day, earning a scholarship. However, I had to work even harder than my peers to improve because I got into the game later than most.  What sets me apart from other recruits is my academics, as I am as much of a perfectionist in school as I am in golf. I was recently named to the 2021 Golf Ontario provincial team, and look forward to gaining valuable experience that will undoubtedly help me in the collegiate setting. I would love the opportunity to represent a university on a national level, as well as receive a high-level education in either the Health Sciences or Engineering field.
