Jimmy Gillespie '17 Recruiting Profile

My name is Jimmy Gillespie, I’m a junior at Garnet Valley High School and am the number one player on my high school golf team. For two years, I qualified for Centrals and recently played in the Districts this year too. I was awarded All Central First Team and I’ve also won several Ambassador Awards for teamwork and leadership. I’ve been golfing, since I was eight and recently won the Chester County Interclub championship. My recent successes have encouraged me to pursue golf in college and I’ve secured a personal trainer and now receive golf instruction year round.

I would be a good fit on a college golf team due to my strong work ethic, love for the sport and my efforts in other areas like community service. My grades have consistently placed me on honor roll. I’ve worked part time as a caddy, have provided tennis instruction and continue to be an avid basketball referee. As far as a major, so far I’m interested in math, technology and, of course, sports.
