Personal Statement

Golf has always been a crucial part of my life. My dad had a club in my hand before I turned five years old.  Golf became my passion during COVID and ever since I have been trying to get better every day.  My goal is to eventually play golf at the collegiate level.

My drive and work ethic are the reasons I am a good candidate for your team. I am always on the driving range working on my swing so I can strike the ball better and more consistently. As well as working on the driving range, I'm on the putting green trying to improve my putting stroke and aim point. I also receive lessons once a week and take the suggestions and drills with me into my practice sessions. During my practice rounds, I work on keeping my mental game in check so that when I make a mistake on the course I do not compound it. I have been reading books by Bob Rotella which have given me methods to strengthen my mental game.

I am different from other recruits in many ways. I stand out in character because of the soft skills I developed at a young age. As an only child, I quickly had to learn how to talk to older individuals which helped me develop my outgoing personality and leadership skills. I stand out in athletics because I am coachable and always willing to listen to become a better golfer. My dad as my coach helped be able to take constructive criticism and use it as a drive to improve my skills. In academics, I stand out because I always strive to get the best grades possible.  I am not afraid to ask questions to help ensure my understanding of a topic which in turn helps me get a better grade. I always make sure I leave enough time to study and make Quizlets to help me pass all my exams.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
