Personal Statement

Living in the province of Quebec is great, I had the opportunity of speaking a different language and living in a different culture than the rest of Canada. None the less, the international language is English, and it would be a great challenge to study in a language I do not completely control. Also, I would love to play some more golf in a year in order to see how far I can get as a good player. I have never played a full year or even a half year of golf because I also played another sport, volleyball, and because of the weather in Quebec. Indeed, studying and playing golf in the United States at the college level would be a dream come true because I've always wanted to push myself to my maximum potential and I feel one way to do so is to be able to play in an american college. In fact, I would like to be a business man or a lawyer someday, but until then I would love to study in the United States in a college that would open great opportunities for my futur because I cannot know for sure if I will have the chance to play golf professionnally, but you never know ... I am a hard worker and I dedicate myself when I want something badly. I have won many tournaments in Quebec and played in some great international tournaments but I feel my game needs to be worked on more. I am a perfectionnist and I want to work on my technique and my mental game so it can be top notch. Many of my golf partners, coaches and competitors whom I played with have recognized a certain potential in me and I feel I have not even reached 10% of my full potential. Also, I like volleyball because it keeps me in shape and I feel diversity is really important to my game of golf, that way, playing another competitive sport helps my number one sport : golf. Sport is a big part of my life and I would love to dedicate myself in a good college in the United States. Concerning my academic grades, I have posted some great results in the past few years and my goal is to play golf in a well-known recognized college in the United States with great teachers and great campus. Indeed, I'd like to combine my golf talent as well as my academic potential to get a diploma in a great american college. McGill university in Montreal is a place I am really considering in case I do not find a fit for 2013 in the US, but I want to go live this amazing experience in the US, even if I have to wait one more year. I am willing to live the experience in 2014. In another perspective, my idol is Roger Federer and I would like to have the same attitude he has on and off the tennis court. He is someone I really look up to. Also, my favorite golf player is Rory McIIroy and Ian Poulter, one for the pure pleasure of watching him swing and the other for the intensity and perseverance. Those are two guys I look up to.
