Personal Statement

I am Joe Reilly, a junior at Baylor School in Chattanooga, TN. In my individual tournaments I’ve accumulated 55 top 10 finishes along with 7 wins. This summer and high school golf I had a scoring average of 74. In individual match play I’ve posted a record 5-1-2.

Through my High School career, I’ve played varsity golf every year. I was named all conference as a freshman by achieving top 10 out of 120 golfers in the Suburban Christian conference by shooting 76. I also came in 8th place at the Illinois High School Association 2A regional tournament as a freshman. As a sophomore I was apart of a talented team filled with 4 future college golfer that finished tied for second at state. I was apart of another team that won two Western District inner club Championships in 2014 and 2016.

In 2015, I received the Leo Magrini Junior golfer Spirit Award and also received the Nazareth Academy Golf Sportsmanship Award. Before moving to Chicago from Idaho, in 2011, I was given the Joe Reilly Sportsmanship award an award named in my honor that continues today. Academically I’ve been on Honor roll Freshman and Sophomore years. I’ve qualified for state in Math for the calculator portion. I’ve been apart of Math club and French club. I also co-started the chemistry club at my school. I Volunteer at least 4 hours a week at CHI Memorial.  I work hard towards my grades and so far I earned a GPA of 3.8

  • Played in front of a lot of power programs and had Baylor men’s coach as my team leader. Shot a 73 and took home a 3rd place finish. I used the camp to have coaches see me and from that camp a couple of schools had me out on visits.
