My love of golf began when my dad introduced me to the game in 6th grade, and I joined my school's golf team. Although our season was canceled due to covid, I was able to start competing the next year in 7th grade. Since then, I have worked on improving my game by competing, taking swing lessons, and spending hours on the range to go from averaging over 100 to shooting between 78-85. My improvements have given me the desire to compete at a higher level. Before entering high school, I was a three-sport athlete. In addition to golf, I played football and wrestled. These sports helped strengthen my competitive mentality and enhance my dedication to completing goals I set for myself. After my 8th grade golf season, I decided to purse only golf. During the time I have spent playing golf, I have focused on developing my game to compete at the college level.
By consistently being the A player my freshman year on my high school golf team, I used that experience and knowledge to help develop myself into the player I am now. While competing as a student athlete, my academics are very important to me, and I intend on playing golf at a school that is a good fit for me athletically and academically. I believe I have not only the talent but the dedication and work ethic to be a great teammate and leader on a golf team at the highest level.
