I fell in love with the game of golf by watching my Dad play at Hideaway Lake in East Texas at my Grandmother and Grandfather's house. I got my first set of clubs at age 5 and my first lesson at age 8 (shortly there after I shot par for 9 holes for the first time!). That was the same year I entered the Dallas News Championship for the first time and I was hooked. After that I started playing the All American Tour medalist events and made my way onto the All American Tour. At first it was a little frustrating because most of the guys were a lot bigger than me. This made me practice my short game and putting until all hours of the night. This has proved to be one of my strengths today!
My first trophy came on the Legends Junior Tour at the 2016 Lanny Wadkins Junior Championship where I finished runner-up in the Boys 14 and under division. The following year I took home first place at the All American Tour Nike Junior Golf Camps Granbury Classic. In 2018, I finshed fifth at the Legends Junior Tour Flodder Financial Shootout and in January of 2019 I finshed 3rd at the Legends Junior Tour Winter Classic at the Dallas Athletic Club. This finish allowed me to reach one of my goals of being admitted to AJGA tournaments.
This past year has been about growing as a person (literally...I grew 9 inches!) and as a golfer. I never get tired of practicing and wanting to become a better player. I expect to finsh the year strong, both in tournament play and my Senior year at Byron Nelson High School. I take pride in being honest and willing to help others. I consider myself a leader and I'm willing to help anyone at becomming a better player and person. My goals for my senior year are too many to list, but I feel that with my work ethic and dedication I will be able to meet or exceed all of them. I want to become a great player but an even better person.
Golf has taught me many things over the years. Be kind, honest, respectful, and show true sportsmanship. Lift others when they are down, be a good teamate, and whether I win or lose, be gracious.
