My name is Keith Cooper, I attend Nansemond-Suffolk Academy. In 2012 my school won the VISAA Division II State Championship. As a Freshman, I lead the team with a two over par, 74 at Sleepy Hole Golf Course. I was named to the All-State team as a Freshman and as a Sophomore. In 2014, my school won the VISAA Division II State Championship again. I was named to the All-State team again for the third time. It was held at the Manor Golf Club in Farmville VA. I shot a 76 to finish 3rd in the individual standings. Also in 2012, I qualified for the Eastern Amateur, which is held at Elizabeth Manor Golf and Country Club. I shot a 74 the first day, and a 73 the second day to miss the cut by three strokes. In 2013, I played in the VSGA Junior Match Play Championship at King Carter, the Junior Stroke Play Championship at Hidden Valley, and the Eastern Amateur. In the Stroke Play Qualifier I was medalist with a five under par 67, at Riverfront Golf Course. During the first day of the Eastern Amateur Qualifier I shot a four under par 66 with 8 birdies and 4 bogeys. The second day I shot a 75, to finish with a total score 141 one over par. During the Eastern Am, I shot 74 two days in a row to miss the cut by four strokes. My dreams in life are simple and attainable. My goals are the same way. I will always fight and grind until the last putt falls in the round or tournament. I always have my head down and try to do my job on and off the golf course.
