I want to play golf for a competitive D1/D2 NCAA program. I started playing competitive golf at age 10 and I’ve always dreamed of playing college golf. I set goals and I'm highly motivated to achieve. I'm very social and I enjoy playing team sports. I enjoy school, especially math, and I have strong academic interests.
I am in the middle of my senior year at Skyline High School in Sammamish, Washington which is a large public high school with a graduating class of around 500 students per year. Skyline is consistently ranked among the top public schools in Washington in both academics and athletics. My current GPA is 3.40 and I scored a 640 in the math SAT. I have always enjoyed working with numbers and math is my favorite subject.
I just completed my senior-year golf regular season where I was captain of our team. We had an undefeated season in a competitive league and I won our conference championship. I’ll compete in the Washington State 4A State High School Championships next spring for the fourth time; I finished T-7 last year. This summer, I qualified and played in the Callaway Junior World Golf Championships in San Diego and I finished sixth in my first AJGA tournament shooting a final round 66. These experiences have helped me to steadily strengthen my tournament golf game.
Besides playing competitive golf at a very young age, I grew up playing years of soccer, baseball and basketball. In particular, I played five years of competitive club soccer. All of these great experiences taught me the importance of teamwork and a positive attitude.
I'm looking for a university that challenges me academically and prepares me for life after college. I'm looking for a golf program with a passionate coach and with teammates that are motivated like me that are fun to be around and have a desire to win. My college goals are to earn an undergraduate degree in Business or a math-related field and to succeed in a competitive college golf program. I'm looking for a university that prepares me for the next step in my life after college, professionally, academically and socially.
