Personal Statement

I am committed to always getting better. In golf, academics, and my personal life. I love the game of golf. I love the feeling of reaching new goals and breaking records. I also learn when the round isn't great, and build off my failures. I pride myself in being a role model for all the people around me, and I work hard at building them up to watch them succeed. I one day want to be on the tour, and look forward to the long journey of getting there.

Events

  • Camp/Event
  • U.S. Open sectionals
  • 6/05/23 to 6/05/23
  • Played 36 in one day shooting 75-74 (+5), I was one of less than 20 amateurs in the field of 110 players and I was the only junior in the field. The courses were rock solid and set up as hard as possible. I had an absolutely amazing experience getting to compete against the best players in the world while having galleries watching it all.
  • Camp/Event
  • West Virginia Amateur
  • 5/28/23 to 5/31/23
  • Shot rounds of 68, 73, 71, 75. I was leading the tournament through the first two days. I made a clutch birdie on 18 of day three to get myself within 3 of the lead and into the final group. Didn’t quite finish strong enough to get the win but I got low junior honors and 6th place in my first WV Am.
  • Camp/Event
  • WV AM qualifier
  • 5/22/23 to 5/22/23
  • Shot +1 in rough course conditions. I qualified for the WV AM and got low medalist.
  • Camp/Event
  • Golfweek Junior Tour elite event at Gibson Bay
  • 5/20/23 to 5/21/23
  • I shot +2 on day one, hit the ball very well, just had an unfortunate double and strung in some bogeys. On day two I started out -3 through 12, I strung in two bogeys down the stretch but I was still in a good position to have a solid finish. Unfortunately on the last hole, I was laser focused, and I ended up hitting from the wrong tee box, which lead to a triple bogey and me shooting another +2 on the day. Though the scores do not reflect my best performance, I believe I struck the ball very well and found very many positives in my game leading into some bigger tournaments in the coming weeks.
  • Camp/Event
  • WV Junior match play
  • 5/13/23 to 5/14/23
  • The WV junior match play is a bracket format with 16 players, all of which have to qualify. I didn’t do my best in qualifying so I came in as the 8 seed. I won my first match 4@3, I won the quarterfinals 1 up, I won the semifinals 7@6, then I came to the finals and had a great battle with a great player and friend going back and fourth almost the entire round untill he got 3 up with four to play, I ended up playing the last four holes three under par which led to my opponent having a must make putt on the last hole which he did end up making and won the match, overall I played really solid golf, made a lot of birdies, and learned a lot about my mental and physical toughness over the 65 holes I played.
  • Camp/Event
  • US Open Stage One Qualifier
  • 4/24/23 to 4/24/23
  • This was my first attempt at qualifying for a major championship. The course was setup for a US Open qualifier with very challenging pins and fast greens along with chilly weather and gusting winds. I was confident coming into the one-day, 18-hole qualifier and got off to a strong start with a -3 first nine (*I started on #10) to be tied for the lead after nine holes. I had a couple tough holes on my back nine but was able to offset two bogeys with two birdies to finish the day with five birdies. I was thrilled to hold the lead until the final group when a (-5) came in to take medalist honors. The T2 finish allows me to move on to the final round qualifier for the US Open. https://wvga.bluegolf.com/bluegolf/wvga23/event/wvga2372/contest/1/leaderboard.htm
  • Camp/Event
  • Golfweek Junior Tour at Royal American Golf Links
  • 4/22/23 to 4/23/23
  • Day one included thunderstorms and strong winds and day two was 38 degrees, strong winds, and snowing for a couple holes. I was able to post a (-3) 69 on day one and a (-4) round of 68 on day two for a nine-stroke victory in the tournament. https://gwjuniortour.bluegolf.com/bluegolf/gwjuniortour22/event/gwjuniortour2247/contest/1/leaderboard.htm
  • Camp/Event
  • Golfweek elite event at Kearney Hill
  • 4/01/23 to 4/02/23
  • On day one the wind was whipping about 50 mph on a links course which made playing conditions virtually impossible, ended up shooting 82, +10, then came out on day two and shot a bogey free -6, 66. Hit 17/18 gir, 29 putts. Brought me to +4 overall and a fourth place finish. https://gwjuniortour.bluegolf.com/bluegolf/gwjuniortour22/event/gwjuniortour2235/contest/21/leaderboard.htm
  • Camp/Event
  • Golfweek junior tour elite event at Harmony Landing
  • 3/18/23 to 3/19/23
  • Sub freezing weather with 15-25 mph wind on day one, slightly better on day two. Shot 73-74 +5 for a t4 overall in the 14-19 age group. This was the first tournament of the season and found a lot of good things to build on. https://gwjuniortour.bluegolf.com/bluegolf/gwjuniortour22/event/gwjuniortour2238/contest/1/leaderboard.htm

  • Camp/Event
  • WV AAA State championship.
  • 10/04/22 to 10/05/22
  • Finished the first round one back of the lead shooting a +6, 77, course was set up in the hardest conditions possible with almost impossible pin locations. Putted lights out on the back to have the lowest 9 by two strokes. Was in a three-way tie for first place individual through 27 holes with an even-par front nine. Did not have the intended performance on the back nine but ended up getting solo third, and my team got solo second. Ended up at +12, 77-77 in some very harsh conditions.
