I am a High School Senior at Pikeview HIgh School in Princeton, WV. I have been playing golf since I was nine years old. I come from a family where my dad and grandpa played golf. My dad taught me the game of golf and I fell in love with the game when I was twelve years old. My grandfather, uncle, and cousin play golf. We have family golf outings together to Myrtle Beach and Pinehurst. I have a strong family support system. I played soccer, football, baseball, and basketball at a younger age. My passion for golf grew and I gave up all other sports and focused on golf.
The game of golf something that should push you mentally and physically. I love to push myself to practice and strive to get better at the thing I love to do most. This game has taught me good decision making skills and patience. I have learned to be humble and gracious for my opportunity to play this game. Sportsmanship has always been a big part of growing up and playing golf. I think it is one of the most important aspects you gain from golf. It is always important to congratulate someone that shoots a good round or sets a personal best.
I go to school from August to the end of May, so i get a good couple of months to really work hard on my game. During the school season i practice everyday after school when it is warm enough. Winter always seems to come early in West Virginia, so i don't get much of an opportunity to play or practice between the months on November and February. Over the summer i work at Pipestem Resort State Park, I usually work around 40 hours a week. during the summer I practice every chance I get before, after , or even during work hours. Since I work at the golf course in Pipestem, when I take my brake for lunch, I take my lunch and my clubs up to the driving range and putting green to practice. While working at Pipestem Golf Course, i have learned to balance responsibility and practice.
My ultimate goal to achieve in college to obtain a degree in Business Sports Management. Eventually I would love to take my game to the next level and be a pro at golf resort or country club. I would love to find the perfect fit where i can balance my grades and practice to get myself to next level.
