From an early age, I wanted to be the best at whatever sport I was playing. I remember telling my parents that I was going to be a professional football player and a professional basketball player at the same time. My plans changed when my grandpa started taking me to play golf in the summer of 2009. I was instantly hooked on the game because there is always something to improve. From there I started going to lessons at my home course, Three Crowns Golf Club, where I began working with David Ogrin, and my game started to progress. In 2013, Coach Ogrin left Three Crowns and left me wondering about another swing coach. In the summer of 2015, my golf game and life took an incredible turn when Mike Johnson came to Three Crowns. He and I work very closely together on my swing and how to improve it in the most efficient way possible. Mike and I work together at every moment that we can, and my golf swing feels very simple yet effective.
From day one, golf has been a teacher to me. Many life lessons have been learned throughout the years. It has been said "Golf is the closest game to the game we call life. You get good breaks from bad shots, bad breaks from good shots, but you have to play the ball where it lies." I play golf because I enjoy the challenge of getting better. To me, the days when I'm grinding on the range are just as fun as the days when I'm playing some of my best golf. Aside from golf, I compete in indoor track, cross country skiing, and bowling. The first two sports are to keep me in shape over the winter, and bowling is for the fun of interacting with friends. I work on strength training in my Conditioning Education/Weight Lifting class and by working with a personal trainer. During the winter, since it is below freezing most of the time, I play golf on a simulator.
My goal is to go to college and continue to play golf. There, I wish to earn an education while continuing the sport that I love. After college, I hope to find a job in the golfing world.
