I became interested in golf the summer before I started 9th grade. I liked the mental challenge of the game. I had never touched a left-handed club before that time. I then signed up for practice and started going to golf. My first few tournaments I scored in the 120’s. Then, my sophomore year, I was in the 90’s, and then in the 80’s my junior year, and this year, I have scored in the mid-70’s. I have learned that I can still encourage my teammates and opponents whether they are doing well or not. I can have a competitive approach but that does not mean throwing the other people down. Even when times are tough during a round, I have learned not to shut down. I improved my scores from the 120’s to the mid-70’s despite the loss of a coach every year of my high school career. I settled into my left handed clubs, and this allows me to have an advantage at times.
