Personal Statement

I'm a God-fearing, hockey-loving man. I learned how to skate at 8 years old, and fell in love with hockey. I have played other sports, but nothing compares to being on the ice. I have every intention of playing D1 level college hockey, and am willing to do whatever is necessary to achieve that goal.

I have great hands, and love the thrill of breaking through defenders to score a goal. But I am very defensive-minded, and my strongest skill base is shutting down forwards and defending my own goal.

Outside of hockey, my main interest is business. I am in the process of setting up my own power washing company now, with the eventual goal of being a big business owner.

Training

  • Power lifting
  • 1 year
  • When I turned fourteen, I instantly got into weightlifting. I love to see the progress in my physical build and changes in day-to-day life. It shows that changes don't happen overnight, but with consistency and small wins you will see changes over time.
  • Conditioning and plyometrics
  • 4 years
  • It's not the most fun type of training but the most important part of becoming a great player. I mainly focus on quick feet drills and explosive drills, because both of those are what makes you more stable, fluent, faster, and have better acceleration on the ice.
  • Private Coaching
  • 5 years
  • I started doing one-on-one lessons with a former NHL player named Jared Ross, (stopped playing in the NHL due to injury) right before my first travel season, which was AA. I feel like one-on-one lessons is super valuable because it lets you master a drill or technique before having to move on to the next drill as you would in practice. It also targets your areas of weakness and really helps you become a more well-rounded player on the ice.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
