Personal Statement

I am an extremely hard-working person, when it comes to both Athletics and Academics, I'm passionately committed to my development in ice hockey and usually last off the ice at any practice. My leadership skills include, teaching hockey skills to young players at work through Canlan Ice Sports and being involved with non-Profit organizations in my community.

As a Left Winger I like to use my size on the ice to create space and chances for my teammates and use my passing abilities to find the open man. I also love to shoot the puck when I get the opportunity too, I have also been told that I have a great shot with a very quick release.

On the ice and in the locker room I am a team first player, and I am passionately committed to team success and winning and will do anything and everything in my power to ensure that my team is ready to play. Two seasons ago I was named the most improved forward, due to the work that I put in on the ice and the weight room all season long. I was also Named the Iron Man because I was at every single game that season because I always make sure I am there for my Team.

Some of my Core values are:

  • Hard Work
  • Commitment
  • Honesty
  • Loyalty

I do not only apply these core values on the ice, I also bring them with me into the classroom. Over the first two terms of my Junior Year (Grade 11) I have achieved a 3.7GPA, while balancing my hockey and work schedule. I always push myself to achieve in all areas of my life because I enjoy a challenge and enjoy continuing to work hard in all aspects of life.

My goal with ice hockey is to earn a scholarship to a university so I can play my favorite sport while I work towards graduating with a Business degree. Another motivation I have to earn scholarship is so I can repay my entire family for all of the sacrifices they made so I could play my dream sport of ice hockey.
