I would like to start my personal statement from the beginning where I discovered my love for hockey. When I was 4, I discovered hockey through a family member. Prior to my cousin playing goalie I had no knowledge of the sport. One day they decided to take me to a rink and try skating, I loved it. From then on I worked hard to get better at hockey and get to where I am now. I’ve worked for 12 years at the sport to develop skills as a teammate and as player individually. Thought thick and thin, I’ve always had a love for hockey, through rough times I’ve found hockey to help me through the times where I needed help. Hockey has always been my passion and my life for 12 years. It has taught me about work ethic, being a team player, being a leader throughout difficult times. Hockey has helped me with my mental and physical well being. For me the difficulty of the game makes it fun for me. I’d like to continue this journey that I’ve been on through hockey and soon call it a career.
