Hockey is and always has been my entire life. At just two years old, I would wear my dad's skates around the house, imitating the players I aspired to be. Even at such an early age, not having the ability to get on the ice was no excuse for me not to improve myself. Once I had my own skates, I would skate on our makeshift backyard rink for hours, dreaming of the day I would play competitively until my mom forced me to come inside. In youth hockey, I helped my team win a state championship by having 2 goals and 1 assist and having the game-winning goal. As a freshman, I faced the tough reality of having little chance to earn ice time, but I never wavered. I worked tirelessly and earned my spot as a starter. My sophomore season was thrilling; our team dominated the year with an unofficial record of 19-1, securing our spot at the CIAC DIl finals. Although we fell just short against Cheshire, that experience taught me the value of resilience and teamwork. Each game solidified my love for hockey and my commitment to pushing through adversity. I embrace every challenge on and off the ice, knowing that with hard work and grit, my dreams are within reach.
