My name is Colten Brands. I am a 2009 birth year who was born in Huntsville, Alabama and now live in West Central Florida. Yeah, hockey hotbeds, right. Don't let that scare you away from me. I am in my 8th year of playing hockey, mostly playing travel, all as a goaltender. I have been playing A/AA level hockey and I am looking to move up to the next level of hockey next season. I am a smaller sized goaltender but growing which requires me to be more aware of my positioning, my angles and squareness to the shooter. I am athletic, aggressive with my stick around the goal crease and have great side to side movements. I am a very good skater who can handle the puck well.
I attend Sumner High School but they do not have ice hockey so Florida/Lightning High School Hockey League catchment rules allow me to play for Sumner's arch rival, Riverview High School Sharks.
When I am not playing hockey, I love playing basketball and football with my friends. I also love playing games on my computer and PS4. I also do some volunteer work at the Feeding Tampa Bay organization as time allows.
My goal is simple Achieve the highest level possible through continued dedication, hard work and having fun playing the game of hockey.
