Emerson Ducasse '16 Recruiting Profile

Ever since I started playing hockey I've had a dream of walking around a college campus and having classmates say "that's the guy who scored the game winner in OT last night.". My parents always valued education and pushed me towards the collegiate route of becoming a student athlete.

From the age of 16 I left home to attend Northwood School and later on Lake Forest Academy to surround myself in an environment that not only had strong academics but also athletics. After graduating High School I had the opportunity to move to Sweden for my first year of Juniors. It was a phenomenal experience that tested me mentally and physically; living alone for the first time in a foreign country, and having the opportunity to focus solely on athletics. My passion for the game grew even more, and I learned that there were no limits to what I could achieve athletically. After my season in Sweden though, I made the decision that I wanted to come back to North American hockey for my last season of Juniors. It was a hard decision because an opportunity to play professional hockey there was knocking at my door, but I knew that education was always number one and that I needed to come back to North America in order to get recruited.
