Hockey has been a major focal point in my life. I have been playing hockey since I was four years young. Many friends, coaches, and successes have been made through my hockey endeavors. One of my first accomplishments with my hockey mates was when we won the FYHA league championship at age 8. When ever I hear the song WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS I can't help but smile at that great memory. I continued making life long memories when at age 14 my hockey team, the Indianapolis Racers, won the U14 National Championship in New Jersey. The State's first National Championship.
Not slowing down my freshman year at HSE high school my team won the league championship. I was the only freshman on a team full of experienced Seniors. My sophomore year HSE went on to win the 4A State Championship. In order to get through the semi-final game we needed not only a win, but needed to beat the tie breaker in points. I scored 3 of the 4 goals for my team which led us to the championship game.
2013 I was a member of the all state Team Indiana High School elites that played in many out of state showcase tournaments. Highlights included winning the Gilmour Academy tournament over Culver Academy in the final game in overtime. The America Showcase in Pittsburgh where I was our team leader in points and second in goals was the cap to a great year. I was contacted by many junior and college programs following this showcase. I chose to stay at my home state and played for the U 18 AAA Indiana Ice.
After that year once again I had some decisions to make regarding my future. Contacted by many junior teams I decided to further my education and accepted a position on the D1 club hockey team at Indiana Tech University. I attack my studies with the same tenacious attitude and work daily to improve my student skills and my hockey skills. I am a Business major student in the second semester of my freshman year with a current GPA of 3.0.
2014-15 was a good challenge for me to play with many players that came from various Junior hockey programs. My stats did not achieve the goals that I set for myself. I did confirm that I have what it takes to skate at the college level and I consistently worked each and every shift to win the effort on the ice and the sprints in practice.
I strive to play hockey at a highly competitive level and complete my college degree. The many attributes that I have learned through my hockey have carried over to the classroom and I am certain will carry over to my life's work.
I have worked summer jobs to assist in some of the hockey expenses including jobs at: The Ritz Charles catering staff, Steak and Shake as a waiter, and the Town of Westfield Indiana's maintenance department. Volunteer service include building a home with Habitat for Humanity, Goodwill, and kettle bell ringing on the holidays.
Give me a spot and I will give you my Best.
