Personal Statement
I am a passionate hockey player with an excellent academic record. My strongest point is the ability to balance between the school studies and the athletic career. This is confirmed by my consistent overachievement in school grades above minimum expected grades and gradually moving up the ice hockey ladder to a captain’s role in my new club team in 2022, selection for the UAE National U18 team in 2023, then making it to the senior team in the 2023-2024 season, winning the silver medal of the Emirates Men Ice Hockey League in the 2024 playoffs.
I have met many great hockey players over the last few years and had a chance to train and even play with a few of them, including some former and current NHL/AHL/KHL stars and Olympians. To see their level of skill and dedication to the game served as an excellent booster of motivation to me. I have also been volunteering as a skating trainer for younger kids in "learn to skate" programs and officiating youth league games as a Level II referee.
My aspiration is to continue this upward pattern during the remaining year in high school to maximize my chances of admission to a top university in the US /Canada, where I want to pursue an aerospace engineering degree, while being able to continue my athletic development at the best possible level.
