Personal Statement
Dear coaches,
My name is Jakob Koinegg, I am 19 years old and I currently live in Graz, Austria. When I was just 5 years old I started playing ice hockey in my home town, in Pachern, close to Graz. We were a successful team, playing many international tournaments and many of my former teammates, made it to the pro level. Unfortunately, I stopped playing when I was 11, because of one of my coaches. In 2020 I started playing again, in a hobby league, with many former pro hockey players. In 2021 I applied to play for the "North Vancouver Hockey Academy" and I got accepted, but then Covid hit and they did not allow any international students for this season, which lead to me only going there for half a year to study. My dream is to play as much hockey as possible and where can I get a better chance to do that, than in university. Educational success is also very important for me and my family.
