Winning the Ontario Minor Hockey Championship in my first year of AAA hockey in Minor Bantam playing for York Simcoe Express definitely shaped my club hockey career. We had young coaches who preached brotherhood and fun. The team camaraderie was very cohesive which allowed us to compete and win at the highest level. In my Bantam year of AAA, despite high expectations we got knocked out of the playoffs and came up short. Underachieving as a team and losing in the early round of playoffs was upsetting. This experience helped shape my play in games and my approach to training. I have learned that I am a student of the game. I constantly talk to my coach about the importance of the drills we are doing. I have worked on my mindset in both academics and athletics. I can control my effort and training, I truly believe the outcome will be positive if I commit to my part. I like to lead as an example for my teammates and love to communicate on the ice. I am the mediator and glue between big personalities on a team. Although I am a physical player, I believe in sportsmanship and have the utmost respect for the game.
I would love to further my education through a college experience and earn a Bachelor's degree in Business. I am a committed student who has solid time management skills. I have learned how to be an advocate for my own learning. I am not afraid to seek help which will assist me as I transition from high school to college.
