Personal Statement
The older I become the more I understand that so much of who I am comes from the family and culture I was born in. I come from a culture of hard work, persistence and order. To become a great hockey-player one has to have the mindset of wanting to achieve, be able to motive yourself (and the team), the strength to persist working in face of hardship.
I believe the most important dimension of my personality is my character followed by my talents and physical abilities.
We all need a context through which we can grow, gain confidence and become great people. Hockey has been my life since early childhood and has shaped me as a person and personality. I believe I am a ‘wise’ player, meaning I think and have tactical approach to the game. This ‘intellectual’ side of the game, to my mind, is becoming more and more important in hockey culture. Only by way of thinking we can notice opportunities, exactly as Herb Brooks once said: Great moments are born from great opportunities.
I am a team person – I respect authority, order and joint effort. Hockey is a great example of how to use one’s individual skills and talents for a common goal.
I want to become a highly professional player – dedicated, skilful and smart both on ice and off-ice workouts and trainings. I am highly motivated and prepared to work hard to make use of every opportunity I have been given!
