I have been a hockey goalie since I was seven years old. I quickly grew a love for the game and knew I wanted to continue playing. I fell in love with the routine of practicing and felt a need to play at higher levels and compete. If I have an opportunity to play hockey at the collegiate level, I will be a team player along with excelling as an individual and goalie.
Hockey, in addition to other sports, has been a huge part of my life, and I look forward to advancing both mentally and physically for the sport. I maintain a hard work ethic and hold myself accountable. I have had a great history respecting my coaches and taking any instruction to heart. I will continue push and improve myself both in the classroom and on the ice.
I am able to implement new techniques and transform them to fit my style of play. I take pride in sport and lead by example, at the same time, I know I am not perfect and follow when instructed. I am usually the first one on the ice or field and the last to step off.
Over my high school years, I have grown in stature as well as maturity, and I am now able to use my size and incorporate it to improve my ability in the net. I know my natural skills will not get me to the elite level I aspire to be, so I am ready and willing to learn.
This year, playing for Northwood Prep in the NPHL, I have been the only goale. This responsibility has pushed me to be reliable even when I am tired or not feeling well. I have learned to adjust my attitude and moods and, no matter what, motivate myself for success. I will continue to work on my weaknesses while still paying attention and perfecting my strengths.
While being a key player, I am conscious about what I can develop and do best for my team. I am quiet and respectful, as well as humorous in particular moments. While I still need work on my time management, I will work on my grades to increase any opportunities for me to excel. I have no doubt that I would be an asset to any hockey association My patience and dedication will prove to create a positive dynamic for my team.
