First and foremost, I want to attend college to further my education and increase my chances to be successful in life. Finding a school that will challenge me academically and athletically would be ideal. I enjoy learning and perfecting the details of the game of hockey. For me it is a strategy game, not just a pure athletic sport. It’ is like chess on ice. You have to see the entire playing surface and think two moves ahead. I am a firm believer in team work and play as one unit. One of my stand out talents is my speed and the ability to sustain that energy from the first shift to the last in a game. I recently received an award on my High School team called, “All Gas and No Brakes“. It is given to the player who best displays the never give up full effort 100% of the time attitude by the coaching staff. I have also been honored by my teammates and coaches 2 out of 3 years to be their Captain. I was also named Assistant Captain this season by my coaches and teammates on the Howard Huskies National Team. A responsibility I do not take lightly and pride myself in leading by example. My Travel Team is ranked 2nd in the state and in the top 40 in the country and we continue to improve that ranking every month. I also play for my High School (AA) and take honors and AP classes at the same time. This requires discipline to manage my commitment on two teams and keep my grades up. I am excited about my potential and hope others will see the passion in me. I only ask for an opportunity to grow in the sport I love. I may not always be the best player on the ice, but i take pride in that no one will out work me. I am proud to say that I have not let my coaches, teachers, or parents down regarding my responsibilities as an athlete, student, or son.
