  • Brian Pothier's Elite Summer D Clinic
  • 7/07/20 to 8/20/20
  • I’m excited to start another year of our Elite Summer D Clinic. This is the flagship program offered by BlueLine Hockey and this summer marks the 7th year of the program. Every year we continue to refine and improve the curriculum offered to our players staying current with today’s game. We touch on every area of a defender’s game including skating, puck movement, individual skill, and countless situational play opportunities in the offensive, neutral, and defensive zones. 26 hours of on ice instruction gives us lots of time to work through this progression. Our goal is to release players to their fall/winter teams, improved, confident and fully prepared. I also believe that proper education is just as important as the skill set we develop on the ice. As always, I will call on experts in the fields of nutrition (Julie Nicoletti-Boston Bruins Nutritionist) and sports psychology (Champions Advantage) to educate the players in hockey specific seminars throughout the summer. Additionally, this year we have teamed up with CCM to incorporate an equipment presentation and demo day! We are also excited to incorporate a state-of-the-art timing system to track the speed development of the players through the summer. We started tracking the players a few summers ago and found great value in monitoring their progress. Our goal is to obtain a baseline score and track their improvements in speed and mobility through the summer. Blueline Hockey has also made a substantial investment in XOS Solutions’ Thunder software. Thunder is used by an overwhelming majority of NHL teams, USA hockey, and Division 1 college teams, to break down game film to help their teams gain an edge over opponents. We will be using this program to supplement our on-ice content with some great visuals. This summer program will include 5 strategic classroom sessions that will accompany on-ice theory. I have been using this technology for several years and it has proved to be an invaluable tool in helping me to expand the mindset and grow the IQ of the players I work with. Times for the off-ice video sessions and seminars with the nutritionist, sport psychologist, and CCM rep will be announced as we get closer to the start of the program. They will take place before or after the on-ice sessions.
  • Camp/Event
  • Brian Pothier Blueline Defensement Camp
  • 7/08/19 to 8/21/19
  • This is the flagship program of Blueline Hockey. Brian takes 20 of the best Dmen at their age level and spends the whole summer honing and shaping their skill sets. This program works on the entire game of the defenseman. Most camps work hard on skill development and overlook the defensive aspect of the game. We do both! 28 hours of on-ice instruction throughout the summer allows Brian and his staff to cover every aspect of the defenders game. We work on skating, shooting, passing, angling, 1 on 1 theory, in zone coverage just to name a few. These players will be prepared for the upcoming season. We know that there is much more to the game than just on ice play. That's why we call on other sports professionals to help contribute to our holistic approach. There will be seminars throughout the summer on nutrition and sports psychology. Brian will also use the latest timing systems from Brower Timing to track the players speed and mobility development through the summer. Classroom time will be introduced this summer as well. Blueline Hockey has made an investment in the state of the art Thunder software package from XOS Solutions. This will allow Brian and his staff the chance to instruct in a classroom setting, developing the players overall IQ and understanding of the most difficult position in hockey! Brian will take the on-ice theory and supplement with strategic classroom topics.

  • Paul Vincent Prospect Development Hockey Camp
  • 7/03/18 to 8/21/18
  • PAUL VINCENT PROSPECT DEVELOPMENT HOCKEY CAMPS PV Hockey is the top development program in the country for the serious hockey player. Coach Vincent and his staff have a 35+ year track record that is second to none in regards to development, on and off the ice, as well as prep school and Division 1 placement. We mention off ice because few coaches in the country insist that each player focuses on character to the level PV Hockey does. We were very proud when 3 straight long time players from PV Hockey were named the NCAA Unsung Hero Award, named after another long time camper, Derek Hines. Our focus on skill development coupled with having a staff consisting of some of the top teachers in the country and you will see why our players are so well prepared for the next level. As the current skills coach for the Florida Panthers, coach Vincent is considered one of the top, if not the top skills coach in the NHL. His stints with the Blackhawks, Bruins, Lightning and so on have had multiple examples of success. Coach Vincent’s staff are all high end hockey guys who are currently coaching from high school to the NHL. No junior councilors, not kids on the ice, all pro coaches who have worked with Coach V for years and are there for one reason, to teach your player and make him or her the best they can be. Our 7 week program is the program to get you to the next level. We had another great summer this past year with multiple players committing to D 1 programs, many of whom no one had on the radar. A further testament to Coach V and his program, 11 D 1 coaches had their sons skating in his program last year, including more than one who were recent NCAA champions. If you want to become a better skater, better stick handler, better passer of the puck, PV Hockey is the place to go. If you also want to ensure your player is held accountable and becomes a better person and teammate, what are you waiting for?

The training camp will be in Marlborough From June 27th to the morning of the 29th leading in to the first tournament. Both tournaments will be AAA level and plan on organizing a strong team. The overnight training camp will be a very important part to this program as I will be incorporating many of the systems we will be using in the games, while simultaneously teaching valuable skill sets within each part of the game that I still work on today. There will be 4 total ice sessions in the 3 days. We will also be doing tactical skill work before practice using video as well as white board work. Video will consist of real game video of NHL and other high level hockey players. Another thing we will be working on will be fun and modern skill moves like dekes and deception that the best players in the world are using. Seeing what the best players in the world are doing is something that everybody should be doing in order to improve their own game.

We recommend that anyone interested in training at Flight Performance -- whether a seasoned athlete or completely new to working out -- should come in for a free evaluation.
