John Riggins '20 Recruiting Profile

    I am a dedicated student athlete that works extremely hard on and off the ice in pursuit of fulfilling my lifelong dream of playing college hockey while obtaining a degree in Business Management. On the ice, I have averaged approximately a point per game throughout my AAA career.  However, it is the combination of speed, Hockey IQ,  physical play and an absolute hatred for losing that has helped create a COMPETE level inside of me that is second to none. It is this same compete level that at 15 years old took me from Bethpage, NY to Lawrence Academy in Groton, MA.  Always in search of the next level.  Always looking to create a big play.  A blocked shot, a 5 on 3 penalty kill,  a big hit that causes a turnover in the neutral zone and of course the beauty of a snipe. I love it all! I have been very  fortunate to play for Coach Barker the past 3 seasons at L.A. I'm extremely proud of  winning the N.E Prep Small School Championship in my Sophomore season, our semi final appearance in the Elite 8 in my junior season of which I compiled 16 points in 26 games as well as our ISL Championship and Elite 8 appearance this past season.

• 2017 16u Northeast College Showcase All Showcase Team (1 of 3 forwards selected)
• 2014 Represented the USA in goodwill games played in Harbin, China competing against teams from all over the world.
