Personal Statement

Ever since I first stepped on the ice I knew I chose the right sport. Growing up in a family of highly competitive athletes I knew from the beginning the hard work and dedication I would have to put into the sport I love to play. The sport of hockey taught me the values of leadership, perseverance, and teamwork which has made this life long journey of playing hockey at a colligate level a non-stop march towards my goal.

The values hockey has brought me has been nothing but a blessing. From getting up early for morning practices or having to go late at night for another game has shown me how to build my mental fortitude. These values of teamwork, leadership, and perseverance have instilled in me a profound love and dedication to hone in my skills to a collegiate team. The cooperation and general perseverance of the sport has given me a way to express what I love to do on and off the ice. I have been able to persevere through any situation on the ice and off as the sport challenges me and puts me in positions I may not be comfortable with.

Off the ice, I work harder to keep my academics and character up to the standards I have set for myself. With my academic and on ice schedule always being disorganized, I work hard to keep my grades up before any other responsibility on the ice, that is why we say Student-Athlete. I have also spent the last year working as a coach at a skills program that teaches the sport I love to younger kids, as well as refereeing youth games. These examples combined have given me a relentless work-ethic to complete anything that may challenge me along my journey through the rest of my life.

My goal is to be more than just a player on a college hockey team, I strive to make myself a good person and positive influence on anyone in my life. I strive to succeed in all aspects of my life whether that be in the classroom or on the ice and I always look forward to the next challenge that will present itself.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
