I have played hockey since I was six years old; and from skating on our pond to skating at the rink, I absolutely love every minute of it. In addition to playing collegiate hockey, I want to earn a degree in a field that will help me to continue on in the world of sports as either a coach or a trainer - which will allow me to give back to a sport that has given so much to me.
Besides winning, the speed and physicality of hockey are what I love the most. Strong fore-checking and battling in the corners are things I consistently bring to every shift. I also have very good vision and situational awareness which helps me to anticipate the play and maximize my potential each time I hit the ice. I always try to lead by example and will compete as hard as I possibly can at every drill, battle, practice, and game. I have a very competitive personality and love to push myself to getting better every single day. I believe that I am a strong leader and a loyal team mate and I feel the need to not only make myself better, but to make my team mates better by pushing myself to new limits.
I am a student-athlete and I realize that being in the weight room and on the ice are not the only things that are going to help me reach my goals. I take my academics very seriously and strive to reach the best of my potential. I am involved with my school not only with sports, but with National Honors Society and Leadership Group. I am active in my church and I also mentor younger players as a guest coach for multiple travel hockey teams. As a respectful student, I work extremely hard for my grades and feel that my teachers would say the same. I understand and appreciate that my schooling is the most important step on the path for me to reach my goals.
My dream is to play hockey at the highest level that I am capable to play. I love this sport so much that I have dedicated countless hours training both on and off-ice towards improving. As a hardworking and focused athlete, I expect nothing to be handed to me and will remain committed until my goals are met.
