Mike Scarpello VI '14 Recruiting Profile

I have been skating since I was 5 years old and have worked very hard to improve my game.  I started power skating with Kim Muir, Can't Skate Can't Play when I was 7 years old.  She really helped me with my foot work and skating ability.  I am very confident with my speed and edges during games.  I have participated in the Power Shot Hockey Training to work on my strength and shooting. In my junior year I tried out for my Varsity Hockey team and the coach told me he wanted me in the system but if he took me on the team I wouldn't play very much.  He wanted me to get a lot of playing time and work on my shot and getting stronger.  I started my 2012 season with Plymouth High school's first Prep Hockey team.  The coach Darrin Silvester was amazing and he taught me a lot.  During the end of our season the Varsity Hockey team needed some help trying to get to the finals so I was called up to play on their team for the end of the season.  I played 6 games and helped them win the Regional Champs title.  I also participated in the MDHL during the spring of that year.

I would love to pursue hockey on into college.  I enjoy skating 4-5 times a week, doing off ice training, watching film, and having 2 games per week.  I still find time for my school work which is very important to me.  I have been raised to put my education first and foremost.  A goal of mine is to have something to do with hockey in college and beyond.
