My name is Theron Neubacher and I have been playing ice hockey since I was 6 years old. My dream is to play D1 hockey and contribute to my team's success by persevering, never giving up and encouraging my team to give it everything we've got. I work hard both on and off the ice. I never miss practice, and go the extra mile to be in the best shape I can be - I do cross fit training with my team twice a week, go to the gym, do as much drop-in hockey as I can go to, stickhandle in the garage, and make sure to stay on the ice year round. I like to attend skills camps and also do private lessons to ensure that I maximize my competitive edge.
I am a versatile player that has played both forward and defense. I currently am a defenseman for the 18U Detroit Compuware AAA team. I am an extremely fast skater, effective back checker, and have a hard and accurate wrist and slapshot. I tend to play an offensive defensive game.
My coach says that I listen well and pick up new concepts quickly and that I have a lot of natural talent and a broad range of skills. Coach also says that I am very humble and a good team player.
My school grades are important to me. I am an honor roll student and want to study aeronautical or astronautical engineering. Those programs require good grades so I make sure to balance my dedication to hockey along with the discipline it takes to also succeed in the classroom.
