At this point in my life, I believe that academics and hockey are important parts that make me who I am today. In many cases, academics and hockey go hand in hand. I believe that it is important to do well in school, and the way to make this happen is to study, do my homework, and pay attention in class. The same applies on the ice. The only way to be successful and to get better is to put the time in, work hard, and listen to coaches. It has been a goal of mine for the past few years to extend my hockey career beyond high school. I have realized to achieve this goal, it’s important to keep a good balance in life between my studies and sports. I also feel it is very important to respect others and be a good teammate and classmate along the way. Life has many ups and downs in it, and I think hockey has taught me some very valuable lessons in how to deal with the high and lows. It has taught me that by hard work and lots of practice I can accomplish things in life that are important to me.
