I have been very fortunate to be able to perform at a high level in athletics throughout my youth and in high school. I have learned many aspects of life experiences through my years of playing football, hockey, and baseball. Athletics has taught me how to deal with disappointment and losing gracefully. These events were crucial in educating me on how to not settle and that I must learn how I could have performed better to improve for next seasons challenges. It also taught me sportsmanship as the other team worked just as hard as we did thus we shouldn't diminish their success. Athletics has also given me opportunities to become a leader and how to demonstrate those traits in varying instances.
I take these experiences and apply them in to everyday life and I know I still have lots to learn. I want to continue athletics in college as I know there will be new challenges and how to balance them with other experiences to be gained. I am looking forward to attending college to enhance my education to achieve my overall goal which is to go into a professional career where I can help others. I want to be able to experience the world of education while continuing in athletics.
