Personal Statement

The first time I stepped on the ice I was five years old. Shortly after learning to skate my community lost its rink for two years. When our new rink was built I was seven years old and got to play hockey for the first time. My first couple of years playing hockey I wanted to be a goal score then at age ten I was asked if I would like to try goalie. When I strapped on the pads for the first time I instantly fell in love with being a goaltender. Ever since that first time in the net I have been working my hardest to try to put myself in a position to move on the next level to one day achieve my dream of being a college hockey player.

My biggest achievement so as a goaltender was making the 14U USA Hockey Western Regional High Performance Camp in Colorado Springs in 2015 and also making the Great Falls Americans NA3HL roster at the age of 16. Both of these achievements have given me a big boost in confidence and in my playing ability.

Besides being a hockey player I have also participated in soccer. I have played soccer since I was four years old and have had the opportunity to play club, O.D.P. and I started Varsity at my high school my first two years. As a sophomore I had the honor of being one of the captains of the team. I also made Academic All-State those two seasons.

Also as a sophomore I had the opportunity of being part of the Delphian Choir. This is the top choir at my high school. This year as a junior I was unable to be part of that group due to my commitment to hockey.

My goal is to find a school that will be a good fit for me athletically as well as academically. I know that hard work, work ethic, character, and dedication are something that all schools are looking for and I believe I have all of these attributes. I hope that I can have the opportunity prove these attributes to you and your program!
