Personal Statement

As a young boy growing up in Toronto, I was constantly surrounded by the game of hockey. The early years of my life were spent watching my two older brothers develop their skills on the ice, impatiently waiting for my turn to lace up. I first stepped out onto the ice at the age of two and from that day on, have been hopelessly addicted to the game.

Hockey is my heart — it’s my blood. It has taught me countless lessons: to stay humble; to push my body and mind to the absolute limit; and, to be a better person and friend. I pride myself on the ability to control a game’s momentum with my energy and drive as well as my loyalty to my teammates and my ability to lead. While I do not know where this game will ultimately take me, of one fact I am quite certain: every time I step out onto the ice, you’re going to get ALL OF ME.

The College Hockey Showcase at Brown University

This evaluation was completed on Paddy from the Brown Univ Hockey Camp I really liked Paddy here at this camp...I felt he did everything well in my skills assessment of him...He could really skate well...showed good overall speed to go along with good quickness and also had good mobility in small spaces...used his speed to create offense thru the neutral zone...he had Dman backing up all weekend...which created offense underneath the layers....his overall skill set and hockey sense were also very good...he sees the ice well and was able to make sound offensive plays...he created a lot of offensive opportunities for his line mates...did a real good job making the tough pass look easy....his hockey sense was also strong....just so instinctive of a player, was in the right spot on the ice for the most part all weekend....was very aware in the Dzone with coverage and the ability to recognize where the play was going to....smart player....and also I liked his compete and work ethic...Paddy was nonstop on the ice, just pressing the opponents when he didn’t have the puck...not overly big player but a good player...I really enjoyed doing this evaluation in particular...he seemed to really understand the game...I would suggest continue with what you’ve been doing to improve your skill set and skating ability...it seems to be working...Best of luck in continued development Scott Fitzgerald /Total Pro Evaluation
