My goal is to run track and cross country at a D1 college/university. I have always planned on being a professional athlete from when I was a kid, starting when I was scouted in ice hockey, to playing summer league basketball, to getting recruited for Track and XC. Currently, I am an unattached XC and track athlete (I most recently ran with Flying Angels Track Club, a Canadian club with many athletes across the country which regularly has runners compete internationally, and olympic qualifiers). I run the 1500m, 800m, and 6km. I was always a runner, but I began training only in track about a year ago, yet I still found success, placing 9th overall out of 240 runners u18 in my region in cross country season, and finishing 5th overall in the u18 men's 1500m in Southern Ontario in my first year of training. I love the work just as much as the success. I am a very competitive person with a persevering spirit, and I know that I can excel at the highest level possible. In addition to sports, I am interested in pursuing a career as an athletic trainer in kinesiology. I have been in programs at the University of Toronto and York University, learning about kinesiology and working as a lab assistant while only in my second year of high school. I was raised to put my academics and character before everything, and hockey, basketball and track and field have all helped me in building a better character, and being more open-minded in school.
Thank you for giving me a chance. You won't regret it.
