In my first year of AAA with the Eastern Ontario Wild; I realised that I would have to start physical training in order to live up to expectations that I had for myself. I wanted to contribute more to my immediate team’s success as well as any future teams that I might eventually play for so, I started training more than five years ago. This training has greatly improved my strength, endurance, agility and speed. One of the main reasons that I am the person that I am today is because of my training family. This elite group of athletes (all with similar goals) has helped me to mature as a person and athlete by setting high standards and providing the motivation to push myself harder while training.
As a hockey player, I try to style my game after Zach Hyman of the Edmonton Oilers. My physical training allows me to bring speed, energy and physicality to my game and I feel that I am at my best in the corners and along the boards where I try to win most, if not all of my battles. I continually look to improve my defensive game while also contributing on offence. I was appointed assistant captain in 2 of the 5 years that I played AAA so; I understood that my coaches relied on me to provide leadership both on and off the ice. As a hard working three-sport athlete, I believe that I have what it takes to compete at the highest levels of hockey.
