Hockey isn't just a sport to me. Ever since I put on my skates and stepped onto the ice, I knew that this is what I loved to do. The feeling of skating across the rink, the sound of the puck hitting the ice, the rush of adrenaline with every play.
At 15, hockey has already taught me so much more than just how to score goals. It’s taught me the value of hard work and teamwork and making friends. From early morning practices to late-night games, I've learned that success isn’t easy. I’m putting in the work both day and night.
But hockey isn't just about individual skill, it's about the team. The relationships I have made with my teammates are something I won’t ever forget. We push each other to be better, both on and off the ice.
Off the ice, hockey has shaped me into a disciplined individual. Balancing schoolwork with training sessions has taught me the way of keeping track of your time. Schoolwork will always come first.
Last year, I suffered a great disappointment when I didn’t make the AAA team. That was the team that I had played on for 4 years previously. I didn’t let that put me down. I played with the A/AA team and worked super hard. I kept pushing forward and became a leader on my team – getting 71 points. I went back to tryouts this year and earned my place back on the AAA team.
As I look to the future, my passion is stronger than ever. Whether it's pursuing a career in the sport or simply continuing to play for the love of the game, I know that hockey will always be a part of who I am. It's more than just a hobby – it's my passion my path to greatness.
Every time I step onto the ice, I do so with pride, knowing that I'm living out my dreams and making memories that will last a lifetime. And as I continue to grow and evolve as a player and as a person, I am grateful for the lessons that hockey has taught me and excited for the road that lies ahead.
