I started playing hockey when I was 4 years old. I got my first set of pads when I was five, and joined my first team when I was 6. I have played goalie ever since and have loved every minute of it. This sport has always been a part of my life and I would like that to remain the case as I move on to the next stage. I would love to pursue more competitive levels of hockey and perfect my skills in a challenging environment.
I currently play AA in Northern Quebec, despite not speaking French and living in Ontario. I have had to quickly adjust to the faster Quebec style of play which has allowed my agility and speed to shine. I play very well under pressure since most of my games have had me facing 45-55 shots. I have a good glove hand and very fast reflexes, which allows me to react very fast to loose pucks. I may be quiet in the locker room, but I'm the anchor of the team helping to keep a positive mindset. I am very dedicated. I take every ice time offered and show up on time, ready to go. I'm also very coachable, listening to every word in order to execute the drill perfectly.
I don't participate in many sports outside of hockey. However, I do train all year round by going to the gym and keeping my muscle strength, agility, cardio, hand-eye coordination, and explosiveness in peak form. I also go on 6 km runs every weekend, and I'm always trying to go farther. I attend Kirkland Lake Composite School and boast average grades. However, I know they are important and am working toward improvement. In college I would like to major in studio art, writing, or history.
I want to find a school that will allow me to become better in hockey, but also in school. I am looking for a place that will allow me to pursue my other passions. I'm open to all competitive levels but, of course, the higher the better. I don't care what state or province I end up in, I just want to play hockey and make my parents proud.
