Personal Statement

Hockey is my passion. From a very young age I knew I was faster then most other skaters and my speed is what sets me apart from other athletes. I am an extremely competitive person who strives to excel on the ice, in the classroom and in the gym. I revel in the intense preparation with teammates towards a common goal. Playing hockey at the AAA level has taught me the importance of teamwork, commitment, leadership and determination in the achievement of all your goals, whether it be at the rink or at school. I am looking for a school that will challenge me to focus my competitive nature on earning a business degree while playing hockey at the highest level possible. I believe the skills that I have sharpened throughout my involvement with hockey will allow me to excel at the next level as a student athlete and beyond as a future businessman.

Player selection completed in consultation with OHL Central Scouting and OHL Member Team General Managers. Thethree days will provide a select group of 16 goaltenders and 80 skaters (only 48 forwards and 32 defencemen) the opportunity to showcase themselves both on and off the ice to OHL Member Team personnel.

The showcase will run from March 15-21, with all games being played at the Scotiabank Pond in Toronto until the Championship Final moves to the Mattamy Athletic Centre on Monday March 21.

OHF/OHL Under-15 Program of Excellence Camp

5pts in 3 games (3g 2a). The OHF/OHL Under-15 Program of Excellence is a development experience designed to educate and inform players and parents. The goals of the program include: to introduce players, families and staff to high performance hockey, the Program of Excellence and the Ontario Hockey League; to create a unique and special life and hockey experience for all players and staff involved; and to develop players and staff both on and off the ice. Players will participate in intense, high performance on and off ice sessions and seminars. On-ice sessions include two practices and three games. Off-ice sessions include seminars with keynote speakers on topics such as sports psychology, nutrition, and fitness. // Hockeyprospects.com comment from the event: KNI #12 F Hayami, Matthew – Good skating on the rush, carried puck end to end a few times. Handles puck well at speed then a good move to beat the defender, hard shot for scoring chance. Smart puck decisions down low created scoring chances. Good speed and physicality on the backcheck.
