HOCKEY!!! Not really, sure where to start, so I will begin with the fact that I absolutely love the game, I have been skating since I was 6 years old and began playing competitive hockey when I turned 9. As silly as this may sound I fell in love with the smell of the rink and the comradery of being around my teammates, I look forward to arriving early to every game, just to have a few more minutes in the dressing room with the boys.
I’m currently in 9th grade and am on the ice at least 5 days a week. In the off season I have enrolled myself in numerous on-ice camps and dryland trainings. Every year when my hockey season has ended I take the time to reflect back on what went well and where are my areas of opportunity to help me become a better player. This approach has really helped me in becoming faster and stronger, however i feel my greatest attribute as a player is my hockey IQ. My coaches felt comfortable and always had confidence in me and ensured that during critical times of the game I would be on the ice for special teams, both PK and PP.
This past season my club team the Oshawa Minor Generals won multiple tournaments in the greater Toronto Area and made it to the quarter finals of our provincial championship (OMHA). Our team was invited to partake in the regional tournament which we went on to win, during that tournament I had 5 goals, 4 assists and was a+9. Additionally, during this season, I was invited on numerous occasion to “play-up” which was a great compliment. This meant that "higher level" coaching staff had been watching me progressive through the year.
My desire is to play US College Hockey but the most important thing is getting a good education. If I am fortunate enough to work my way on to a College program it will not just be because I am a good hockey player but because I'm good a good student athlete. I take great pride in being a good student and am currently enrolled in advanced academic courses in High School. My plan is to continue with advanced courses post- secondary.
I am extremely confident that I will be an asset to any College who gives me the opportunity to be a part of their program. I assure you that I will work hard, be a great teammate and an even better student.
I greatly appreciate you taking the time to view my profile and look forward to hearing from you.
